Talk about confusing a description with the thing it describes! This guy is just a Platonist. Even the pre-Socratics, over 2500 years ago, were dealing with the issue of reality and the issue of the logical structure of mathematics and "the world" was analytical philosophy's mood of a century ago. Even Lewis Carrol had that as his underlying theme! Can't the BBC ever do philosophy properly? My only surprise is that they didn't load this clip with neo-Marxist egalitarian dogma. Rant over!

Ahh the classic search for order in equations. There are some really out of this world statements made in this video. He says the entire universe is a giant mathematical structure. But then he says the universe is a mathematical object and that space and time exist inside that object. That's some warped view of cause and effect right there. But he's on the right track I think. Trying to use the standard model of physics to describe the impossible always brings you to the ol' brick wall.

You'll be limited, if not by your imagination, then by the limits of a reality bound by virtue.

Quran Chapter 57:20
Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

Not true. If this is a mathematical construct the road block is the limits programed by the programer. Even our imagination would be a part of that program. The matrix.
